How to identify your recipient numbers affected by DND (Do-Not-Disturb)

The recent introduction of DND (Do-Not-Disturb) has led to the incidence of FAILED messages. In this post we will be looking at how to identify the numbers affected by the DND Policy.

When messages are sent on www.kudisms.net , we receive Delivery Reports from our providers which can be found by clicking the Reports Menu and also Clicking Delivery Reports (DLR) from the drop down.

All Phone numbers with FAILED as their Delivery Status are the ones affected by the DND policy. Messages sent to these numbers through any Bulk SMS platform will never deliver until DND is Deactivated on the line.

To make the sorting and collation of phone numbers affected by DND easier, we advise that you download and filter the Delivery Reports, click this link: http://blog.kudisms.net/how-to-check-and-download-delivery-reports/

This is the reason why your messages are being REJECTED on www.kudisms.net

The recent introduction and implementation of the DND (Do-Not-Disturb) Policy by Nigerian GSM Networks since July 1st, 2016 has given rise to a lot of REJECTED messages sent through Bulk SMS platforms (majority of which are on the MTN Network).

The error in implementation of the DND policy led to the AUTOMATIC activation of DND for some subscribers. This has been a major cause of the REJECTED messages and loss of money spent in sending Bulk messages to the affected MTN lines. While Bulk SMS providers and customers hoped that the issue will be resolved by the GSM provider, it later dawned on them that the error may have come to stay.

A quick fix was birthed and voila, it worked. The affected lines had to ACTIVATE DND by sending STOP to 2442 and then DEACTIVATE DND by sending ALLOW to 2442.
